How Can An Itchy Rash In The Groin Area Be Treated?

I have had a rash on my groin for 6 years, because I never treated it. There has been no itching at all for 5 years just red skin. I have used daktarin and surfaz sn ointment but the redness is not going away Please suggest an ointment for the inflammation and also duration

Given the length of time you have had this rash, treatment with ointment may not yield good results.Ointments may help in acute cases or if such a chronic rash become infected.I will suggest you get the rash examined by the Dermatologist for a more objective and etiologic management.If benign, your Dermatologist may decide to let it be since it is not exposed or take if off f it is disturbing you.
You may try a topical anti-histamine like benadryl or a topical steroid like betametasone cream like Dipropionate Cream for the itches while you prepare to see the Dermatologist.
