Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi, I am a 61 year old female in menapause who has had a 5.4 cm simple ovarian cyst for over 3 years. My mother had a full hysterectomy at age 42, was diagnosed with breast cancer at 82 and died of breast cancer at 87. Mt obgyn was ready to remove it last year, however set me to Univ. of Penn. to see an oncology obgyn. He said he did not think it was cancer. I am nervous about having this in me and the potential of it turning cancerous. At what point is removal recommended in a women my age? Thank you. Nancy
