Hello I have an umbilical hernia and also I think and incisional hernia which both occurred after my second C-section the doctor went both times in the same incision horizontal line on my uterus and now I have to hernias both hernias have grown greatly over the last 8 to 9 years what do you feel I should do in this situation any help would be more than I have received for my primary care provider thank you
Hernia develops due to muscle weakness. Other reasons that increases the risk of hernia may be a previous C-section procedure followed by coughing, heavy weight lifting or any straining that leads to hernia. It should be operated as early as possible.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Bhadresh Lakhani
