How Can Anemia Be Treated?

I was anemic. My Iron level dropped to 28 ug/dL. I was getting extremely tired. My doctor put me on Iron pills Iron 65 MG = 325 mg Ferrous Sulphate twice a day. My latest Iron level was 51 ug/dL. I would like my iron level to be near 100 ug/dl. I am back to my energy level. I have weak heart due to a heart attack in 1991. I am also diabetic. My last A1C was 6.4 Should I continue taking iron supplement ?
