My grandfather is 76years old. He had brain hemorrhage on right frontal lob on 6th March. He was admitted in CCU for it but he was not operated. He is not able to recognize people and other things but when he is said the name and etc then he recognizes it. Now he is saying he is feeling anxious and not well. What to do please suggest. He was having hypertension.
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
Your grandfather had a brain hemorrhage and he has some anxiety features now. It’s more look like aN organic delirium where these changes are happening because of the brain hemorrhage.
Anxiety disorder at this age is extremely unlikely. You can take opinion of a neuropsychiatrist. In my opinion, he may show good response with low dose of quetiapine.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Prashant Gohil
