How Can Appetite Loss Be Treated While Suffering From Pneumonia And Diabetes?

Hi, my father is a diabetic patient and was,diagnised with a kind of lung infection called pneumonia. Later it was proved as a kind of TB which is communicable. He is under medication since two weeks and adviced to continue the same for 3 more months. Meanwhile the blood sugar level is increasing and he is suffering from lack of appetite,unable to find the taste of food and sour throat too. Kindly let me know the diet to be followed to increase his appetite as he is suffering from malnutrition...

Hi,

TB takes a toll of the body causing malnutrition and with diabetes the condition can be serious and difficult to deal with. in order to promote good nutrition and control sugar at first take the diabetic medicine seriously also tb medication takes sometime to show action but once the tb infection is controlled patient regains his appetite. Right now you can give adult nutrients formula like ensure for proper nutrition. but do consult your physician for close follow up of blood sugar.
