Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

The initial treatment for osteoarthritis is:

1. NSAIDs.
2. Steriods if the pain is severe. There is limited use for glucosamine but its usage can be decided based on the indiviual.
3. If still the pain is way too severe then joint replacement is the final option.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Muhammad Adnan Iqbal
