How Can Arthritis In The Knees Be Treated?

I sat around for two years doing very little. I was previously active by walking. Arthritis in both knees. Pain ok, tolerable. After sitting at a desk for years I found i had severe hip joint area pain when walking over 25 ft. Lower back hurts a lot now from sitting so much difficult oh standing to cook now hurting in upper body. Note: diagnosed with fibromyalgia years ago but antidepressants worked on the pain. Had discontinued antidepressanta now because they make me sit around all the time. What should I do?

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

If part of the decreased activity is related to pain in the back and pain due to fibromyalgia, it would be best to speak to your doctor to see if you can get another pain medication. Physiotherapy may also be helpful as well.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
