General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

She has ascites because of an ovarian tumor. An ovarian tumor needs to be removed if it is advised by a doctor. For ascites treatment, ascitic tapping can be done to remove fluid. But tapping here seems to be because of ovarian tumor metastasis, so tapping not advisable until strongly indicated. A diuretic drug can be prescribed to decrease swelling.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Parth Goswami
