How Can Ascites Secondary To Liver Disease Be Treated?

hello doc,i just want to know how to deal a person with secondary to chronic liver disease? and what should i could help with that person with can kind of sicknes.thanks hope you can help me.age is coming 63 year old,weight somewhere around 69 kilos and height is 180cm. this is the doctor diagnosis ascitis probably secondary to chronic liver diseases

Hello, Thanks for using Healthcaremagic. I had gone through the data you have posted.
Ascites forms in patients with liver disease due to low albumin and increased portal pressure.

we need to restrict salt intake and start on dieuretics like furosemide + spironolactone to optimise the fluidstatus.

if serum sodium is low then we need to restrict salt and water intake.

we need to start Betablocker to reduce portal pressure.

by doing this we can tackle ascites part of chronic liver disease...
