Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have asthma and I cough everyday and cough mucus up. I have allergies (sever). I get cough attacks from my allergies. My right side runs like a faucet. My eye, nostril and throat go crazy and I cough and cough. I get so much mucus in the morning I cough and cough sometimes until I throw up. My primary doctor does not believe in allergy shots and won t give them. What is up?
Thanks for your question on Healthcare Magic. I can understand your concern. In my opinion, you should consult pulmonologist and get done clinical examination of respiratory system and PFT (pulmonary function test). PFT is must to know the severity of asthma because treatment of asthma is based on severity only. So get done PFT. You will definitely improve with inhaled bronchodilator (formoterol or salmeterol) and inhaled corticosteroids (ICS) (budesonide or fluticasone). Oral combination of antihistamine (levocetrizine or fexofenadine) and anti allergic (montelukast) is also beneficial in your case.. So consult pulmonologist and discuss all these.. Don't worry, you will be alright with all these. Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wish you good health. Thanks.
