How Can Atherosclerosis Be Treated While Suffering From Diabetes?

I have been diagnosed, using a CT scan, with severe atherosclerosis I have diabetes and I am taking Metformin. I am taking baby aspirin. I am also taking Lisinopril. I will be seeing my heart physician next week. I shall defer my questions until after talk to my heart physician. Thank you. (What other medication do you recommend to stem/reduce my atherosclerosis ?)

Atherosclerosis is a progressive disease which cannot be reversed per say. It can be stopped from progressing with proper diet control, exercise and medication to decrease cholesterol/ldl if it is increased. Regular follow-up is recommended.
