How Can Athlete S Foot Disease Be Treated?

i have what seems to be athletes foot. it isnt itchy, it usually doesnt hurt unless the skin cracks. it does go up between toes and the majority of it is on the ball of left foot, i had in the past treated it with an anti fungal cream- for the past month, i had been using a triple-anti biotic. it is very stubborn and wont go away.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Athletes foot is caused by a fungal infection but triple antibiotic only contains antibiotics, it does not contain any antifungal medication. This means that it would not treat this or any other fungal infection. You need to use either a topical or oral antifungal medication.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
