Hi. My name is Jake. I was recently diagnosed with afib/a flutter. I understand all this now and know what has to be done to fix it. However, I just got word that my bnp count went from 327 to 501 in a month. What does this mean and should I be concerned?

General & Family Physician, Dr. Varinder's Response
Hello,
Are you taking some drugs because BNP raise may be in response to drugs? It may also indicate the cardiac failure state you are in. For cardiac fibrillation, there are drugs like beta blockers as well as radio-frequency ablation. Meet a cardiologist.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Varinder Joshi
