I recently had an incident of heart fibrillation where my heart rate spiked to over 300 bpm. My cardiophysiologist has recommend a steady dose of Amiodarone (100mgm per day). I am aware of the severe toxicity of this drug and, after 5 months on the drug, I see some of the side effects of the drug and would like to know if there are alternatives that are less toxic and will still provide protection against another incident such as this.
