How Can Atrial Fibrillation Be Treated?

I have been on lorazepam for a long time . I have had atro fib for a long time. I had a heart ablation ten years ago. it did not work because they got close to the esophagus. my v.a doctor is taking me off lorazepam for good. a old doctor told me if I did not want to keep coming to the emergency room he would give me this medicine ..thank the LORD it has kept my heart out of fib but once in a while. now I am going into fib real often. I know this medicine is what helped me. I am 72 years old and I know my body real good. I have never abused drugs . I don t smoke or drink. what can I do.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

If you have atrial fibrillation rarely means one or two times in a month, then try non-pharma means as avoidance of tea, coffee, herbal products.

Try deep breathing as relaxation techniques, pranayama, yoga and meditation.

Avoid soft drinks, fasting, overeating and have proper sleep.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
