How Can Autism Be Treated?

I am looking for a psychiatrist within 70 miles from Fitzgerald, GA. who accepts Medicaid to treat my autistic granddaughter. She has been diagnosed as severe to moderate. She is 13 years old and needs a doctor who can treat her without having to travel to Atlanta every month. The doctor she is seeing now does not seem to have the answer on how to treat her.

I am sorry your granddaughter has autism. Unfortunately, not every doctor is able to help such children and adolescents. Many states have organizations that have been formed to gather information (physician specialists, special equipment, groups of families with the same condition) about one particular condition such as cancer, Parkinson's disease, multiple sclerosis. There maybe an autism society of Georgia who will be able to help you.
