Hi,

There are two regimens to treat babesiosis but what I prefer usually is to give combination of Atovaquone every 12 hours and Azithromycin. Both drugs for total of 7 days. Another regimen mostly for severe patients is combination of intravenous Clindamycin every 6 hours and oral quinine every 6-8 hours , both drugs for 7 days.

However the doctor should be consulted before going for any of these as in rare cases, exchange transfusion may be required if the disease is very severe.

Hope I have answered your query.
