How Can Back Acne Be Treated?

Hi there, I have quite a lot of acne on my back that I can t seem to get rid of. I used to play a lot of sports in high school, and always thought that was the cause of it. Yet, even after I stopped playing sports the acne is just as bad as ever. What can I do/try to get rid of the back acne? I ve tried not letting my hair products get on my back as I shower, and I m very conscious about not staying in my sweaty workout clothes after I go to the gym. Thank you!

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi
Welcome.
I have gone through your query.
I usually recommend Oral treatment with Retinoids in my patients of acne involving torso.
I also combine an Oral antibiotic e.g azithromycin along with retinoids for faster improvements.
Topical benzoyl peroxide gel or body wash forms an important part of treatment along with Oral treatment in my patients of acne on torso.
These are all prescription products.
I would suggest that you visit your dermatologist. Your dermatologist will assess the severity of your acne and advice accordingly.

Regards
