Hi, thanks for posting the concern in HCM.
A severe
low back pain, combined with hip pain, may be due to the following reasons -
mechanical back pain Spinal problem, including anatomical abnormality like Schuermann's disease, lumbar scoliosis etc
Lumbar spondylosis PIVD
Other causes not related to the musculoskeletal system like urogenital infection, enterocolitis,
spastic colon may also cause similar pain.
Now, considering your isolated symptoms, I think the problem is mostly musculoskeletal and related to faulty posture. An Xray of LS spine - ap, lat view will be first needed along with clinical examination by a consultant
orthopaedic surgeon.
Now, till the diagnosis is done, you can have Tab Paracetamol 650 mg twice daily after meals for pain alongwith
muscle relaxant Tab Benzaday 15 once daily at bedtime.
Physiotherapy along with local heat therapy may help.
Plenty of oral fluid should be taken along with high fibre diet to avoid constipation.
Please avoid stooping, carrying heavy weight etc.
You may also need an MRI of lumbar spine if clinical examination and xray are inconclusive.
If you have any other questions, please write back directly to me. I shall be happy to help you out.
Wish you a good health.
Regards.
