How Can Back Spasms Along With Numbness In The Arms Be Treated?

I m a quadriplegic,59 yrs. Old. Started having back spasms so intense that I cannot breathe, it eases off right before I pass out. My arms start tingling, then numbness, It s so intense and not being able to breathe kind of makes me PANIC ! ! ! I take gabapentin, baclofin, 15 mlgrm. Oxycodone, methadone,20 mlg. Every 6hours. In the hospital they give me valium to stop my spasms. Can I take this all the time.? I also have spasms in my legs, hips, abdomen, arms etc. The back spasms are relatively new, last 3 months. HELP

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

It is a reversible condition. The name itself is reversible cerebrovascular constriction syndrome. You will improve by 2-3 weeks time. No need to worry. It is self subsiding illness.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
