General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,
BV results in a shift in the normal microorganisms in the vaginal area to a type of organisms that cause the infection. If you have only been treated with flagyl (metronidazole) then treatment with clindamycin could be tried. Adding a probiotic to your daily regimen can also be helpful. Align is a good probiotic that is available over the counter.
