I have BV for 3 months now and I am a T1-T3 paraplegia for 22 years. I have tried boric acid inserts for 26 days and afer a 4 days it came back. then a z-pack of antibiotic now he has me on flagyl 750 for 5 days and its really not alot better. the burning and firey sensation is not there but still green what should I do?
Hello Welcome to health care maic. Sorry to know about your condition.
Bacterial vaginosis needs the first line treatment with flaglyl for atleast 10 days.As you said, burning sensation has gone but green discharge still there. You need to wait till the treatment is completed.
If the symptoms still persists, second line treatment can be started with higher antibiotics.Meanwhile,it would be advised to have a vaginal swab microcopy ,culture and drug sensitivity done again to know about persisting infection and antibiotic resistance. Also control of any underlying medical condition like diabetes mellitus will be required.
Hope this helps.Feel free to ask any more doubt if you have.
