Hi, my boyfriend was diagnosed with bipolar when he was a kid but he doesn t seem to have any symptoms and he s always positive. He s not on medication, but he seems just fine without it. I ve known him for 9 months now and would like to know more about bipolar and if you think it s possible that he could have been diagnosed wrong.
Hi there. Biploar disorder can sometimes overlap or be mistaken for other diagnoses like ADHD, personality disorders etc. Bipolar ranges between manic episodes en depressive episodes. The core symptoms of a manic episode is increased self esteem, decreased need for sleep, being talkative, having an elated expansive mood or irritable mood, and seeking pleasureable activities or dangerous activities. If these symptoms are not evident and he is on no medication it is possible that he could have been wrongly diagnosed
