Hi, my name is Savanna Branson and I am a pharmacy tech student. I've only been in school for a month but I have been researching symptoms that I have been having for years. Although I don't want to believe it, the information I have found makes it seem like I have bipolar disorder. I do not have insurance and do not want to put money down on something that may be untrue. I live in new jersey and am insured in Maryland so before I waste my time I need an opinion.
The best way to know if you really need help no matter what your diagnosis is, is by how impaired your functioning is. If you are having difficulty concentrating, sleeping, spending, and managing your mood, then you may need help. Bipolar disorder really warrants a close examination from a qualified mental health professional. Difficulty with concentration, sleeping too little, euphoria or irritability, grandiosity, agitation or increase in activity, and impulsive engaging in pleasurable activities are symptoms of the manic stage of bipolar disorder. On the other hand, low mood, poor self worth, indecisiveness, eating too much or too little, sleeping too much, not being able to enjoy things, impaired motivation, and suicidal thoughts are symptoms of the depressive phase of bipolar disorder.
