Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
i have hormone receptive breast cancer which we have been treating it for 8 years. It was also found in my lymph node at the time of my mastectomy on my left breast. After removing 16 nodes it was found only one was found after surgery. After chemo and 36 radiation treatments I took a pill to block the hormones for a year and stopped after side effects were really bad. I restarting them for another year with same results. I asked my doctor how long did I have to take the pill and he said for the rest of my life. I couldn t work and take them too. I found out three years later that it was for 5 years.. I would have toughed that out. During this time I had restoration surgeries. But I made it four years and a knot appeared on my head. My oncologist said it was a cyst and that was left unchecked for 6 months until my hairdresser told me I needed to go back to the doctor. He said it was just s skin cancer and they could just lop it off. My plastic surgeon (restorations) did a biopsy and said it was positive and had metasized to my scalp. So without any tests or scans or MRIs my surgeon performed day surgery and had to rescind (?) my scalp as it had grown inside my scalp to the size of the bottom of a coke can. Needless to say there were margins she couldn t get. So he told me I had Stage 4 breast cancer and there was no cure. But I ve tried numerous treatments and the last was a new drug. The tumors are growing rapidly. I m wondering if this was all necessary. My question is, if it was in my lymph nodes to begin with was if too late for all this I have been through? Never mind. My email will give you my private info. Just wondering.
