Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I was diagnosed with Stage II breast cancer in Feb and treated by surgery and anastrozole. My doctor has suggested a PET/CT scan due to weight loss. Since this involves radiation exposure, i am not comfortable doing this test. I am 63. What information do you have about the risks of this test for someone with a cancer history. Thank you.
Its treatment depends on the stage of cancer. It may consist of chemotherapy, radiation, hormone therapy, and surgery.
Surgery Mammaplasty, Tissue expansion, Lymph node dissection, Lumpectomy, and Mastectomy, Medical procedure, Teletherapy and Radiation therapy, Medications, Estrogen modulator, Chemotherapy, Hormone-based chemotherapy, and Bone health.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Monish De, Oncologist
