Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Yes, my friend had triple negative breast cancer and was treated with chemotherapy and radiation. She then had ovarian cancer and was again treated with chemo and radiation. The cancer has now spread to her kidneys. She says she does not want more chemotherapy, mainly because she has neuropathy. This greatly diminishes her chances of survival, right? She is seriously planning to take a now legal in California lethal cocktail. What do you think?
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
As per your description, it seems like advanced cancer which spread to multiple sites. Surgical removal is not possible and only thing we can offer is just palliative chemo and radiation. However, results are not satisfactory. We cannot comment on lethal cocktails owing to ethical or legal reasons.
Wishing her good health.
Thanks.
