Hi my baby is 41 days old. After 45 min of breast feeding my baby is still not satisfied I have to give her 60 ml nan pro 1 after every breast feed what is the best I can do to increase the supply . Please suggest . My doc has told me to take shatawari powder is it safe to consume the same which brand is best . Regards Vaishali
Breast milk production is increased with increased breastfeeding or the removal of the milk. In between breastfeeding, you should try to pump off milk.
By both breastfeeding when the baby is hungry and pumping in between, your body will start to increase milk production. You would need to both breastfeed and pump on both breasts.
You also need to make sure that you drink a lot of fluids and rest as much as possible. Not resting can stop the body from milk production.
When you pump to do it either where you can see the baby or have a picture, your body will respond to the image.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Michelle Gibson James, General & Family Physician
