How Can Breathing Difficulty Due To Allergic Cold Be Treated?

Hi Doc, I have cold and dust allergy. I stayed in Bangalore From 2014 june till feb 2015 and during that time I was unable to breathe properly, then for next 6 months I shifted to Pune and I was normal and didnt take any medicine. Now Again I moved to Bangalore from Jan 2016 and the same problem started from March 2016 onwards. I can hear a weeing sound coming out. I have taken List Mont, Levocad-M and recently started taking Montek LC because of unavailability of previous 2 tablets. May I know what should I do to permanently get rid of congession/breathing problem ? Thanks

Hi
The management of allergy at times can be very challenging.Levocad-M is an antibiotic and will only help you if your symptoms are of infectious origin. It will not help you here. Montec LC is a good medication that can help reduce symptoms. However, the best treatment for allergy is to identify the allergen and avoid. In your case, cold and dust. These happen to be allergens that can be difficult to avoid. However, here are some measures and medications that can help you
- Use long-acting antihistamines like cetirizine
-Nasal corticosteroid spray like fluticasone since they can be used for long and will not give you the side effects of oral steroids
-Nasal decongestants
-Avoid cold and dust as much as possible and only get exposed when necessary
Hope my answer will help you
Best regards
