How Can Brittle Toe Nails And Cracked Skin Be Treated?
Yes about 3 years ago I started getting thick toenails not own all of them but some and when I cut my toenails that toenail that s behind the top nail just crumbles and I was wondering what it is and what can I do about it plus my feet are so cracked and they are peeling like I have been out in the sun and some spots of my feet have got thick skin what is that and what can I do to get my feet back smooth
You might be having a yeast infection of the nails and the skin of your foot. To best diagnose this is having some scrapings of the skin and nails and have them examined in microscope after diluting it in KOH.
The best treatment for the nail fungal infection is with oral antifungals like ketoconazole for at least 3 months and you need a good follow up. The oral ketoconazole will take care of the skin infection as well.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
