Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have a cold and possible bronchitis. I foolishly played tennis yesterday after taking RobitussinDM, got light-headed, sat down, passed out and had a brief seizure (first time). Nothing serious showed up after ER testing and CT scan. BUT, now I have loud tinnitus. Is it related to the fainting episode and, hopefully, is it likely temporary?
As per your history is concerned you have infection so if it is bacterial origin you can take an antibiotic as prescribed by your doctor. "If" it is viral in origin then antibiotics has no role to play.
Secondly you have tinnitus which is noise inside your ear or you will listen some sounds. There are many sounds present but in your case as you had an infection so your sound will be [heartbeat]due to Eustachian tube blockage and this is called as pulsatile tinnitus.so nothing to be worried about it, you can use any OTC nasal drops three times per day and use steam inhaler. Also tell your doctor to prescribe one antihistamine for short time. It is a temporary thing which will go away on its own.
Hope that helps
