How Can Bronchitis Along With Pneumonia Be Treated?
Hi - went to new doctor today - diagnosed with bronchitis and mild walking pneumonia. Prescribed 6-pack Azithromycin 250MG & 4MG Methylprednisolone 21 doses. Started the 6-pack but concerned about taking both at same time... Especially since pharmacist said to take all 6 tablets for 1st day at the same time along with the 2 tablets from the 6-pack. DID I BLOW IT or is it ok to start the methylprednisolone the next day. Taking all that medication @ one time really worries me.
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
About medication dose I must know your weight and the infection type. But taking Azithromycin and Methylprednisolone together has no risk. All I suggest is to take Ranital tablets to protect your stomach from using Methylprednisolone because all corticosteroids tend to damage stomach layer. Continue medication as prescribed by your doctor.
All the best!
