How Can Bronchitis Be Treated?

I have bronchitis, and am taking Levofloxin, 500 mg per day, I am highly sensitive to any antibiotic but can take Levofloxin... I use a pill splitter and take 250 mg every 12 hrs. Have not had a flare up in 11 years. Been on it for 7 days now, could I take an over the counter cough syrup containing an expectorant while on this antibiotic?
