Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have bed bugs in both my ears past the canal crawling around my ear inside my ear when I stick my finger in my ear I feel it crawling towards it and then crawling on it as so with an tip dipped in oil. And I also feel the bugs ramming a piece of stuffed tissue drenched in oil. But when the doctors look into my ear they see nothing. But I feel the bugs crawling underneath my skin inside my ear coming from underneath my skin and inside my ear. What can I do.
Hello and welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
The bugs cannot go passed the tympanic membrane in your ear. So you do not need to worry about it.
If your tympanic membrane is perforated the doctors would be able to see it. The same if you had bugs in your ear. So if they do not see nothing, that means that you do not have bugs in your ear but it is just a neurological feeling.
Most of the times there is not much to do about it, just to make up your mind that there is nothing in your ears. It is very rare for bugs to enter the ears, and if they do, they would die there. Make sure to clean your ear regularly after shower, do not put cotton tips inside nor any other thing that would push deep the wax and irritate the skin of the ear canal.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
