Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am taking 150 mg twice a day for neuropathy, burning in my feet. I have been on this for 2 1/2 years now and the cost is getting very high. My dob is 3/4/1947 I have express scrips as my drug plan. Do you know of any other drug that my help with the pain and cost because I only get limited help with the burning sensation with what I am taking now.
As per your clinical history, please follow like this:
1) Do a clinical examination by your Doctor [Ortho] and he will conduct a test known as 'Tinel test' to confirm TTS. To rule out other pathological conditions, do MRI and electromyography.
2) Do 'RICE' at home, which means Resting, Icing, Compression, and Elevation. And discuss with your doctor for Steroid injections.
3) Discuss about surgical treatment for permanent solutions and it is a minor procedure.
Do treatment early to prevent nerve damage and consult with your Doctor now.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Uday Nath Sahoo
