How Can Calcification On The Neck Be Treated?

Hello, I have been feeling severe pain on my neck and notice that my lymph nodes are swollen. After seeking help with several doctors, I finally was able to get an X-rays and was told that I have calcification and will need to see a ENT doctor. After doing some research, I found that it might be cause with excessive intake of vitamin D. 1- I realized that I take vitamin D daily. Can this the cause of my condition? 2- How to treat this calcification on my neck? Thank you,

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I don't think this is caused by excessive intake of vitamin D. It is a genetic predisposition favoured by vitamin D intake.

The treatment may be with ultrasound, the same method used for kidney stones. Also, microsurgery can be used.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
