Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My Dad was diagnosed with stage 2 cancer. They are reluctant to operate him due to his age (77). I have seen the case when a woman of about the same age was successfully operated on 5 years ago. She lives a normal life nowadays. Question: should we insist on operation or the doctors know better ?
Hi and welcome to Healthcaremagic. Thank you for your query. I am Dr. Rommstein, I understand your concerns and I will try to help you as much as I can.
It depends on type of cancer. Usually age is not contraindications for cancer surgery so you are probably in hospital which dont have resources to do it. SO you could find second opinion. I hope I have answered you query. If you have any further questions you can contact us in every time. Kindly regards. Wish you a good health.
