hi doctor, My daughter is 13 months old and having chest congestion, whzeeing and cough with litlle cold. My pediatrician suggested Levolin,Ambrolite D and Azithromycin. My question is all these medicines are mild and safe for baby of 1yr old . Any side effects of these medicines in future. I dnt want to nebulize my kid in future and i think levolin is used for nebulization.? Please suggest.
As per your query, your daughter has symptoms of chest congestion, wheezing, and cough which is due to severe upper respiratory tract infection.
Medications prescribed by a physician are safe for baby in mild doses. It makes infant little drowsy. You try preventive methods along with medications. You should give diet rich in multivitamins. Drink plenty of water. Avoid hot, spicy and sharp food substances. Your infant symptoms will resolve in 4-5 days. If symptoms keep on persisting visit pediatrician once and get some routine blood investigation done. You should get x-ray chest done and get it examined.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
