How Can Chest Contusion Caused By An Accident Be Treated?
I was in a car accident hit a pole at 35 mph air bag deployed. Have a chest contusion. I am a nurse and have been out of work for 6 weeks. I work nights and lift aprox 40 charts during the night and twist push and pull them from chart rack they weigh 5 to 13 pounds. Is it ok to go back to lifting charts once i feel bette or do i need to gradually work my way back. How long does this type of injury last until one is able to recover and lift objects. I wont know how lifting will affect me until i do it and I was told to do no lifting and total rest for 6 weeks so how does one know they are better until they resume doing there job and lift. Can i re injur myself. Do i need physical therapy before returning to my normal routine or is everday ADLs enough strenghting exercise.
Hi. We need to know the extent and severity of the contusion. Hope x ray has been done to rule out any major injuries. 6 weeks rest is advice. usually chest injuries will pain for longer duration. If x ray is fine with out major injuries you can resume back to work initially with less work and gradually u can increase. Thank u
