Hi,

To help with chest pain from cough you might need to take some ibuprofen and paracetamol every 6 hours after food. Also treating the cough might help with the pain as well.

The best way to treat the cough depends on the cause of it, it is important that you see your doctor so she can check your lungs and rule out lung infection (pneumonia).

If you have pneumonia you will need antibiotics like Azithromycine and you can also get cough syrup to help expectorate the secretions like guaifenesin or carbocystein or bisolvon. Meanwhile drinking plenty and resting might help you feel better soon.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
