Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am 56 years old...... I am going to evening classes for massage therapy.... I work full time. Since last mod I am so stressed and my reflux is acting up... I had a bad reaction to the meds to take for it... I don’t know how to relax and calm the acid reflux.
Till you can manage the stressors may need to try a medication to see if it works for you, one you can tolerate.
There are different meds for reflux eg pepcid, zantac, peptobismol for short term relief, tums, nexium, prilosec, prevacid, protonix.
In terms of stress relief--(1) identify the different sources of stress to see if - match the particular problem with a possible solution (2)deep breathing (in for 7 , hold for 7, out 7) and progressive muscle relaxation may help with relaxation
I hope this helps
