How Can Chronic Chough Along With Wheezing Be Treated?
I saw a N.P. 1 1/2 weeks ago because I thought I might have beginning of the flu and didn t want to infect other people. Test was negative. She said it was a URI but did a poor exam-talked while supposedly listening to me breathe! I m a nurse and have listened to my own breath sounds and all I hear is wheezing with expiration in frontal lobes. Very little colored sputum- mostly clear. I have bouts of hard coughing that doesn t bring up much but zaps me and sounds awful. I guess it s bronchitis. oh, yes- NP did give me a z-pack and tessalon pearls that help but dry me out a lot! using a humidifier, drinking honey camomille tea, water, juice...
Hi dear pleased to hear you! Take in to consideration that all flu attacks start with symptoms you have. It may or may not cause bronchitis. cough and nasal sputum are common in flu. wheezing are best heard by others. The sound which you heard could be nasal block sound during auscultation. The possible treatment for both conditions is...... 1. Nasal decongestant 1 drops in both nostrils thrice daily 2. Anti histamine and cough syrups like ambroxol and levocet. 3. Anti inflammatory like paracetamol. 4.antibiotic like azithromycin 3 days course. If cough persists for more than 3 days after the treatment get x-ray chest done. Hope you found the answer.
