Hello my son is 9 years old, 4 9 and 150 lbs and has constant constipation. After months of diet adjusting we are still trying to find out the problem but i am lost as to what test should or should not be run on him. He has already been hospitalized for a clean out. He has only had blood work and xrays on his colon areas. Please help. Sindi Fisher

How Can Chronic Constipation Be Treated?
Hi, Understanding your concern. Chronic constipations seems to be due to inadequate fibres in diet and due to poor food intolerance and digestion. Need not to worry. I would suggest you to - Take diet rich in fibres and avoid sharp and spicy food intake. - Add laxatives in diet and apply esbogol as well around anal area opening. - Drink one spoon of honey in warm water daily. I would advise you to consult gastroenterologist once and get examination done like complete blood count, stool examination, and colonoscopy examination. Doctor may prescribe you traditional drugs like lactulose, milk of magnesia and cremaffin or bisacodyl tablets. Hope your concern has been resolved. Dr. Harry Maheshwari
