How Can Chronic Constipation Be Treated?

I have not ben able to have a bowel movement for 6 days, This Has been going on for about 3 months I took 8nglasses of Mira Lax, with 2 teasponns of metamucil, then a bottle of citrus of nitrate and 2 senacott, the nurse at my doctors office siad I would get diarehea, and I have but that wont rlieve any blockage, just release the pressure building up, now my intestines are very soe and don.t know if I should go to the hospital or not

Thank you for the query.

It seems that you should have colonoscopy done. Your constipation can be due to some organic changes including a tumor or adhesions. Thyroid should be tested as hypothyroidism can cause constipation as well.
Please consult gastrologist and do not wait with it.
