How Can Chronic Constipation Be Treated?

Good evening I am suffering with severe constipation that developed after being treated for H. Pylori that had been living in my stomach for a number of years undetected. I suffered from severe rectal bleeding that was associated with hemmorids. I haven t had a regular bowel movement since Sept 20 2017. What should I do?

Hi,

Post antibiotics use may cause constipation in few patients due to altered flora of gut. Other possibilities like low fiber diet and sedentary lifestyle.

Take high fiber diet and do regular exercise, drink plenty of liquids. Use syrup lactulose 30 ml after dinner for 5 days. If symptoms do not improve, please consult your doctor who will examine and treat you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Penchila Prasad Kandikattu
