Have not pooped for almost 4 weeks. 1. Went to the hospital on Tuesday and they did the rectumr check and the sud enema and all that came was liquid poop and was hard to poop. They sent me home and gave me lactose red for three days to take and poop ha still not soften. 2. I called my GI RN and she mentioned me to take mirlax 3 times daily along with that and Inhavr been doing that, drinking prune juice and laxituve pills. 3. Nothing still today. What should I do I am so miserable and hard to breath know.
In addition to the prune juice and laxatives, you need to drink a lot of fluids and move around as much as possible. Both of these help with bowel movements. It would also be best to take a fiber supplement such as Metamucil or Citrucel or Benefiber. It may be necessary to take up to three times a day, but you can start at twice a day and see if that works for you.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Michelle Gibson James
