General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Acid reflux can lead to a chronic cough. But as thick mucus secretion present, antihistaminic drug course can be prescribed. Auscultation and chest x-ray did if needed. For acid reflux rabeprazole for seven days can be prescribed. Rule out Hiatus hernia like condition if present which can lead to acid reflux consult gastroenterologist for examination.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Dr. Parth Goswami
