How Can Chronic Cough And Chest Congestion Be Treated?
IM SUFFERRING FROM HIGH COUGH WITH PHELGM .. I FEELL CONGESTED INMY CHEST AND ALWAYS COUGH MY HALF OF THE ENERGY GOES IN COUGHING ..NEED TO GIVE A GREAT PRESSURE TO COUGH AND ALSO HAS SLIGHT ITCHING IN THROAT MY DOC GAVE ME ASTHALIN AND BUDECORT MIX AND TAKE NEBULIZATION AND FEW TABLETS TOO .. BUT I DIDNT GET INSTANT HEALING IM TAKIN THIS MEDICINE SINCE ONE WEEK BUT STILL IM COUGHING ..CAN I CONTINUE THIS NEBULISATION FURTHER DOES IT WILL WORK ..NOW I COUGH LESS BUT STILL IT IRRITATES ME
Hello, I can understand your concern. You are probably having a case of lower respiratory tract infection along with asthma. This will require a course of respiratory antibiotic like Azithromycin or levofloxacin. Since the cough is present for more than a week now, kindly get the following tests done. Complete blood picture, ESR, Chest Xray. Continue taking asthalin and budecort nebulization. Add Tab Pulmoclear(acebrophylline + acetyl cysteine) this will help in clearing the mucus. Consult your doctor for further management as these are prescription medications.
