How Can Chronic Cough And Chest Congestion In An Infant Be Treated?

Hello, my 5 month old son started coughing about 1am it sounds like a congested cough, is there anything I can do? He had a fever but it broke. Now is laying down, no crying or showing or aches or pains. But pneumonia has crossed my mind. Of course.Thank you for your advice!

I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

That could be due to a viral infection, or some irritation of the bronchial tree which causes a cough. You should worry when this cough changes to mucopurulent discharge.

If he still has the fever, not taking his food properly and activeness is decreased, then we can think about pneumonia or other infection. Right now give him OTC antipyretics, levocetirizine drugs with cough syrup.
